It is a foam rubber training knife with a hard spine so it keeps its shape. Besides knife sparring, it can also be used for training drills such as the Kali Hubud drill, making it safer to apply more force or realism. These knives allow you to hit your opponent with full force with very little chance of injuries. It is recommended to wear safety glasses (such as racquetball glasses) and light gloves while using this product.

Great Stuff and Awesome product May 11, 2008 I'm personal student of GrandMaster Remy A. Presas who is the founder of Modern Arnis fighting System. I teach Modern Arnis twice a week in Burbank CA and have been in Martial Arts now since 1972 [Aikido] and I have use 1000 of different training knives. Rubber -- Wood -- Steel -- Alumimun -Wraped - Soaked - many and I mean 1000 of different types and sizes and always trying to find one that works to give my students a feel of reality and metal for this is the best. HOWEVER for sparring and training and creating timing and reflex skills These "BLADESPORT" training knives are the very best as most others have the chalk strip but they do not bend, and in the heat of attack. with stabbing, metal can really hurt, these are much better. They are well made as my students beat the snot out of these and they really hold up. My advice get a set and work them for a few months and you decide. I love them they are awesome and the stand the test of time and training. Also not too much to get a set. You are the one who has to use them. They work for me !!!
